Overview
Envelope Press is operated by The Stamp Vault ("we", "us", or "our") and comes in two parts: a self-serve lead-finding and envelope-printing tool that you run yourself, and a fulfillment service in which we print your materials and mail your campaign for you. This policy explains what information each part collects and how it is used. It supplements the main Stamp Vault Privacy Policy, which governs your account, orders, and general site usage.
Self-Serve: Lead Search Data
When you use the lead finder, we process the search parameters you enter:
- The ZIP code you search and the radius you select
- Your audience filter choice (business, residential, or both) and result limit
- Search results are sourced from open map data (OpenStreetMap) and ZIP geocoding services. Residential addresses are labeled "Current Resident" — we never look up or display occupant names.
- Search results themselves are not stored on our servers; your most recent search session is kept in your browser's local storage on your own device.
Self-Serve: Mailed-Lead History
To help you avoid mailing the same recipient twice, Envelope Press records the addresses you actually print:
- When you click "Print Envelopes", a normalized version of each printed lead (plus its ZIP and audience type) is saved to your account with the print date.
- Leads that merely appear in search results are never recorded — only leads you select and print.
- This history is private to your account and is used solely to hide or flag previously mailed leads in your future searches.
- You can include previously mailed leads again at any time using the "Include previously mailed leads" option.
Self-Serve: Branding and Return Address
If you upload a business logo or set a sender/return address for your envelopes, those assets are stored so they can be rendered on your printed output. They are used only to produce your envelopes and are not shared or used for any other purpose.
Billing and Credits
Envelope Press search credits are purchased through Stripe. We store your credit balance, credit purchase and usage history, and transaction references. Payment card details are processed securely by Stripe — we never see or store full card numbers.
Fulfillment Service: What You Give Us
The fulfillment service is different from the self-serve tool: you hand us the campaign and we produce and mail it for you. To do that we collect and store:
- Your contact details for the order — name, email address and phone number — so we can confirm the job and follow up on it
- The return address you want printed on the mail, and the mailing type and quantity you order
- The recipients for the run: the audience type and area you select, or an address list you supply
- The files you upload — your logo, and the insert or document you want printed and mailed
- Order, quote and payment records, including what was charged and when the run was mailed
Fulfillment Service: Your Uploaded Files
Uploaded logos and inserts are handled as confidential material belonging to you:
- They are stored in a private bucket that is never publicly readable — there is no public link to your artwork
- They are opened through short-lived signed links generated for the specific order, by the owner alone
- They are used only to produce and mail that campaign. We do not use your artwork or insert content for marketing, to train anything, or for any purpose of our own
- We do not read your insert for its content beyond what is needed to print it correctly and to check it is lawful to mail
- You keep ownership of everything you upload; you grant us only the licence needed to print and mail it
- They are kept after the run so a reprint stays possible, and are deleted whenever you ask — see how long we keep fulfillment data, below
Fulfillment Service: Mailing on Your Behalf
When we mail a campaign for you, we handle personal information about the people you are mailing — your recipients, not our customers:
- Recipient addresses are used only to address, produce and mail your order, and to answer questions about that order afterwards
- We do not market to your recipients, add them to any list of our own, sell them, or reuse them for another customer's campaign
- Residential recipients selected through the address finder are addressed to “Current Resident” — we do not look up or print occupant names
- The finished mail is handed to the United States Postal Service, which delivers it under its own terms and handles anything undeliverable using your printed return address
- You are responsible for having a proper basis to mail the recipients you choose; where you supply your own list, you are its controller and we process it only on your instructions
Fulfillment Service: Who Else Is Involved
Beyond the providers listed in the main Privacy Policy, a fulfillment order involves:
- Supabase — stores your order record and holds your uploaded files in the private bucket described above
- Stripe — takes payment for the order and calculates sales tax on it
- Resend — sends your order confirmation and our internal alert about a new order
- The United States Postal Service — carries the finished mail
Printing, stuffing and addressing are done entirely in-house, by the owner of The Stamp Vault personally. No print shop, mail house, or other business ever handles your mail pieces, your artwork, or your address list. If that ever changes, any partner would receive only what it needs to produce and mail the order, under a duty to protect it, and we would update this policy before it happened.
How Long We Keep Fulfillment Data
We keep your fulfillment data indefinitely. We would rather tell you that plainly than describe it vaguely:
- Uploaded artwork — your logo and insert — is kept indefinitely, so that if you ask for a reprint later we can produce it from the same files rather than asking you to send them again
- Address lists supplied for a run are kept indefinitely for the same reason
- Order records — what was ordered, charged and mailed — are kept indefinitely for accounting, tax and dispute purposes
- Everything is held in our cloud database, in the private storage described above. Nothing is kept on a local machine or on removable media
- There is no automatic deletion and nothing expires on a timer. Files are removed only when you ask us to remove them
If you would rather we did not keep your files, email us at the address below from the address on your account, say which order or which files you mean — or ask us to delete everything — and we will delete them and confirm when it is done. The only thing we keep after such a request is the bare record of the transaction itself, where tax and accounting rules require it. Deleting your artwork means a future reprint would need you to send the files again.
Data Security & Your Rights
The same safeguards described in the main Stamp Vault Privacy Policy apply: access to your data is restricted, payments are handled by Stripe with industry-standard encryption, and we never sell your personal information. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your Envelope Press data — including your mailed-lead history, uploaded branding, fulfillment artwork and any mailing list you supplied — at any time.
